There was a minor upset in Givataim where 12th ranked H.Izrael (7-19) was defeated by fourteenth ranked H.Ramat Gan (8-19) 91-80. H.Ramat Gan shot the lights out from three nailing 13 long-distance shots on high 52.0 percentage. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 22 assists. Point guard Amit Ebo (180-1999) notched a double-double by scoring 25 points, 10 assists and 4 steals to lead the effort and swingman Eliad Tal (198-2002) supported him with 14 points, 10 rebounds and 4 assists. Five H.Ramat Gan players scored in double figures. Even a double-double of 26 points and 16 rebounds by Nigerian-American forward Emmanuel Omogbo (203-1995, college: Colorado St., agency: Octagon Europe) did not help to save the game for H.Izrael. American guard Richaud Pack (192-1992, college: Maryland) added 15 points and 5 assists. H.Izrael's coach Assaf Rothenstein tested ten players, but that didn't help to avoid defeat in this game. H.Ramat Gan moved-up to twelfth place. Newly promoted H.Izrael dropped to the thirteenth position with 19 games lost. They share it with M.Ashdod. H.Ramat Gan will play against higher ranked E.Kiryat Ata (#5) on the road in the next round and they do not belong to the favorites in that game. H.Izrael will play against M.Raanana (#9) and hopes to get back on the winning track.
