Regular Season Round 25: BJBS RJ 2 - Ridzene 59-81

The most interesting game of round 25 was a derby match between two teams from Latvia. The game took place in Riga where third ranked Ridzene outleveled host BJBS RJ 2 (10-7) 81-59. The game was mostly controlled by Ridzene. BJBS RJ 2 managed to win fourth quarter 19-16. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They dominated on the defensive end, holding BJBS RJ 2 to just 7 points in third quarter. Ridzene forced 23 BJBS RJ 2 turnovers. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 28 assists. Worth to mention a great performance of Latvian Liva Krumina (184-2003) who helped to win the game recording 25 points, 5 rebounds and 6 assists. Forward Tina Grausa (181-2005) contributed with 12 points and 4 assists for the winners. Center Auguste Romanovska (183-2005) answered with a double-double by scoring 11 points and 10 rebounds and Paula Putniece added 12 points in the effort for BJBS RJ 2. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Ridzene maintains third place with 14-6 record having eleven points less than leader RSU 2. BJBS RJ 2 at the other side keeps the fifth position with seven games lost.
