There was a small surprise in Joensuu where ninth ranked Lahti (13-17) edged 7th ranked Kataja (13-17) 75-73 on Wednesday. The guests trailed by 3 points after three quarters before their 19-14 charge, which allowed them to win the game. Americans were the main players on the court also this time. The best player for the winners was guard Khalil Iverson (196-1997, college: Wisconsin) who had a double-double by scoring 21 points and 15 rebounds. Forward Chris Clarke (196-1996, college: Texas Tech) chipped in a double-double by scoring 15 points, 11 rebounds and 9 assists. Lahti's coach Pieti Poikola used a ten-player rotation in such tough game. Forward Rahlir Hollis-Jefferson (198-1991, college: Temple) produced 17 points, 6 rebounds and 6 assists and Christopher McKnight (201-1987, college: Akron) added 11 points and 8 rebounds respectively for the hosts. Four Lahti and five Kataja players scored in double figures. Lahti have a solid three-game winning streak. They moved-up to seventh place, which they share with Nokia and Kataja. Lahti will meet bottom-ranked Korihait (#12) in the next round where they are favorite. Kataja will play against Bisons (#11) and hope to secure a win.
