Regular Season Round 29: Pyra - Arka 2 103-65

The game between closely ranked teams ended with sixth ranked Pyra's (16-10) home victory over 7th ranked Arka (12-14) 103-65 on Wednesday. Pyra dominated down low during the game scoring 56 of its points in the paint compared to Arka's 22 and made 17-of-18 free shots (94.4 percent) during the game. They outrebounded Arka 49-24 including a 39-21 advantage in defensive rebounds. Pyra looked well-organized offensively handing out 25 assists. Guard Aleksander Adamczak (193-2000) stepped up with a double-double by scoring 20 points, 10 rebounds and 5 assists for the winners and guard Marcin Flieger (185-1984) chipped in 20 points, 6 rebounds, 5 assists and 4 steals (was perfect 9-for-9 from the free throw line !!!). Guard Iwo Olender (184-2001) responded with 14 points and 6 assists and center Lukasz Walkowiak (205-2003) scored 13 points. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Pyra moved-up to fifth place in Group A. Loser Arka keeps the seventh position with 14 games lost. They share it with Ogniwo Szcz.. Pyra will meet Trefl 2 (#11) in the next round which should be theoretically another easy game. Arka will play against Gniezno (#4) and hope to secure a win.
