Not a big story in a game when 7th ranked Rustavi (6-10) was defeated on the road by second ranked Kutaisi (11-4) 90-80 on Friday. The hosts trailed by 2 points after first quarter, but they rallied back to get the 6-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 90-80. Kutaisi made 19-of-22 free shots (86.4 percent) during the game. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 27 assists. The best player for the winners was the former international Akaki Dvalishvili (207-1991) who had a double-double by scoring 19 points, 13 rebounds and 4 assists. Kutaisi maintains second position with 11-4 record behind leader TSU. Rustavi lost third consecutive game. Defending champion dropped to the ninth place with ten games lost. They share the position with Cactus. Kutaisi will meet Tskhum-Abkhazeti (#8) in the next round where they are favorite. Rustavi will play against Titebi in Tbilisi and hope to secure a win.
