Rather predictable result when fourth ranked Legnano K. (14-9) smashed at home 7th ranked Varese (11-13) 93-59 on Friday. They outrebounded Varese 42-23 including a 34-19 advantage in defensive rebounds. Legnano K. looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists. The best player for the winners was naturalized Montenegrin Janko Cepic (203-1999) who scored 22 points and 9 rebounds. Guard Manuele Solaroli (195-2002, agency: Players Group) chipped in a double-double by scoring 21 points and 10 rebounds (on 9-of-11 shooting from the field). Five Legnano K. players scored in double figures. At the other side the best for losing team was the former international forward Marco Allegretti (204-1981) who recorded 17 points and 5 rebounds and power forward Alessandro Spatti (203-1995, agency: SLN) added 14 points respectively. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Newly promoted Legnano K. maintains fourth position in B with 14-9 record. Loser Varese dropped to the ninth place with 13 games lost. They share the position with Monfalcone. Legnano K. will meet Firenze (#11) on the road in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Varese will play against Sangiorgese and hope to secure a win.
