Regular Season Round 19: Apollon P. - Iraklis 89-95
Date: March 26, 2022
We cannot really consider it an upset in the game between close teams when 11th ranked Apollon P. (5-12) lost to twelfth ranked Iraklis (4-13) in Patra 89-95 on Saturday. The guests took control from the first minutes by winning the initial quarter 22-15. But Apollon P. won second period 12-11. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Strangely Apollon P. outrebounded Iraklis 47-35 including 35 on the defensive glass. It was an exceptional evening for American swingman Jamar Abrams (201-1989, college: ECU, agency: Inception Sports) who led the winners and scored 21 points and 5 rebounds. His fellow American import power forward Brandon Garrett (206-1990, college: Murray St.) accounted for 18 points and 9 rebounds for the winning side. American forward Tre McLean (197-1993, college: Chattanooga) came up with a double-double by scoring 14 points, 17 rebounds, 4 assists and 4 steals and the former international Georgios Tsalmpouris (216-1996, college: Iowa St.) added 28 points and 6 rebounds respectively for Apollon P. in the defeat. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Iraklis maintains twelfth place with 4-13 record. Apollon P. lost fourth consecutive game.
