Not a big story in a game when 11th ranked Paterna (10-17) was outscored at home by fourth ranked Zamarat (21-6) 78-53 on Saturday. The winners were led by forward Gala Mestres (185-1994, college: Mount Royal) who scored that evening 17 points (on 8-of-10 shooting from the field) and American-Nigerian center Nneka Ezeigbo (188-1998, college: RMU) supported her with 10 points and 8 rebounds. Even 15 points and 7 rebounds by Bosnian Nedzla Kovacevic (183-1997) did not help to save the game for Paterna. Forward Paula Garcia (-2002) added 6 points and 9 rebounds for lost side. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Zamarat have an impressive six-game winning streak. They moved-up to third place. Paterna lost fifth consecutive game. They keep the eleventh position with 17 games lost. Zamarat will meet at home Plasencia (#15) in the next round which should be another easy win for them. Paterna will play against Azkoitia (#14) and hope to secure a win.
