Regular Season Round 24: Taranto - Torrenova 83-68

There was a minor upset when one of their biggest challengers Torrenova (15-9) was defeated on the road by sixth ranked Taranto (15-9) 83-68 on Sunday. The best player for the winners was power forward Riziero Ponziani (204-1994) who had a double-double by scoring 19 points and 11 rebounds. Swingman Alberto Conti (195-1998) chipped in 16 points. At the other side the best for losing team was swingman Donato Vitale (185-1998) who recorded 16 points and forward Dario Zucca (203-1996) added 11 points and 10 rebounds respectively. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Taranto moved-up to fourth place in B. Taranto will meet league's leader Agrigento on the road in the next round and it may be the game of the week. Torrenova will play against Ragusa (#7) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
