Regular Season Round 16: Tirana - Teuta 80-56

There was a change at the Superliga leadership position after last games. Round 16 most important game was a defeat of league's leader Teuta (9-3). They were crushed by second ranked Tirana (10-4) 80-56 on Sunday night. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Teuta. It was a key game for the top position in the league. They outrebounded Teuta 44-29 including a 34-21 advantage in defensive rebounds. Tirana looked well-organized offensively handing out 24 assists comparing to just 10 passes made by Teuta's players. Worth to mention a great performance of the former international center Endrit Hysenagolli (208-1988) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 19 points and 18 rebounds and international guard Eldi Hysa (195-1999, agency: Interperformances) who added 32 points during the contest. Four Tirana players scored in double figures. At the losing side American forward Tamas Bruce (202-1995, college: Arkansas St.) responded with 15 points and 6 rebounds and the former international center Kristi Gorea (200-1997) scored 10 points and 5 rebounds. Teuta's coach Melzin Lazimi gave up on the game allowing to play ten players seeing no chance for a win. Tirana have a solid four-game winning streak. They keep a position of league leader. Defending champion Teuta dropped to the second place with three games lost. They were replaced at the leadership position by Tirana. Teuta will play next round against strong Kamza trying to make it back to the top of the standings. Tirana will try to continue on its current victory against fourth ranked Vllaznia in Shkodra.
