Regular Season Round 24: Sassari - Fortitudo BO 85-79
Date: March 27, 2022
Very expected game when 15th ranked Fortitudo BO (7-16) lost on the road to tenth ranked Sassari (10-11) 85-79 on Sunday. However just six-point win is not that big difference and the fans of host team counted on more convincing victory. Sassari looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists. The winners were led by Croatian center Miro Bilan (213-1989, agency: BeoBasket) who had that evening a double-double by scoring 16 points and 12 rebounds and Croatian Filip Kruslin (198-1989, agency: BeoBasket) supported him with 19 points. Sassari's coach Demis Cavina used a ten-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Even 16 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists by American-Polish center Geoffrey Groselle (213-1993, college: Creighton) did not help to save the game for Fortitudo BO. The former international Pietro Aradori (195-1988) added 18 points and 5 rebounds. Five Sassari and four Fortitudo BO players scored in double figures. Sassari moved-up to eighth place. Loser Fortitudo BO keeps the fifteenth position with 16 games lost. Sassari will meet at home league's leader Milano in the next round and they do not belong to the favorites in that game. Fortitudo BO will play against Cremona (#16) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
