Regular Season Round 22: Cd'Orlando - Monferrato 87-66
Date: March 27, 2022
There was an upset when higher ranked Monferrato (13-10) was outleveled by thirteenth ranked Cd'Orlando (7-16) in Capo d'Orlando 87-66 on Sunday. Cd'Orlando forced 21 Monferrato turnovers. American swingman Tevin Mack (198-1997, college: Clemson) notched 20 points and 8 rebounds to lead the effort and the other American import forward Nick King (201-1995, college: MTSU) supported him with 11 points, 10 rebounds and 4 assists. Five Cd'Orlando players scored in double figures. Even a double-double of 14 points and 12 rebounds by the former international power forward Niccolo Martinoni (203-1989) did not help to save the game for Monferrato. American forward Xavier Hill-Mais (202-1996, college: Oakland) added 16 points for lost side. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Cd'Orlando maintains thirteenth position in A2 with 7-16 record. Loser Monferrato keeps the sixth place with ten games lost. Cd'Orlando will meet higher ranked Piacenza (#7) on the road in the next round and they do not belong to the favorites in that game. Monferrato will play against Piacenza and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
