Regular Season Round 18: Vera - Titebi 85-95
Date: March 29, 2022
Another interesting game was again a derby between two local teams from Tbilisi: Titebi (#6) and Vera (#4). Vera was defeated at home 85-95 and even the advantage of their own court did not help. The game was mostly controlled by Titebi. Vera managed to win third quarter 28-22. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They dominated on the defensive end, holding Vera to just 6 points in first quarter. They outrebounded Vera 41-29 including 30 on the defensive glass. Titebi looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. The best player for the winners was American guard Isaac Asrat (188-1997, college: LCU) who scored 29 points. The other American import point guard Chris Parker (180-1998, college: Liberty) chipped in a double-double by scoring 20 points and 10 assists. At the other side the best for losing team was American forward Zac Seljaas (202-1997, college: BYU) who recorded a double-double by scoring 23 points and 14 rebounds (went 7 for 7 at the free throw line) and power forward Vakhtang Kadaria (205-1989, college: Mineral Area) added 24 points respectively. Four Vera players scored in double figures. Titebi maintains sixth position with 7-8 record. Vera lost fourth consecutive game. They keep the fourth place with seven games lost. Titebi will meet at home Rustavi (#10) in the next round. Vera's supporters look forward to another derby game next round, where their team will travel locally in Tbilisi to the arena Olimpi.
