Everything went according to plan when third ranked Kotwica (22-8) defeated 11th ranked Slask (13-17) in Kolobrzeg 86-73 on Wednesday. Kotwica outrebounded Slask 45-25 including a 35-18 advantage in defensive rebounds. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 25 assists comparing to just 12 passes made by Slask's players. The winners were led by Damian Pieloch (195-1989) who scored that evening 26 points and 6 rebounds and guard Piotr Smigielski (191-1989) supported him with 12 points, 7 rebounds and 8 assists. Four Kotwica players scored in double figures. Even 19 points by guard Milosz Gorenczyk (191-2001) did not help to save the game for Slask. Point guard Kacper Gordon (184-2002) added 11 points and 4 assists for the guests. Kotwica have a solid three-game winning streak. They maintain third position with 22-8 record having just two points less than leader Lancut. Slask lost third consecutive game. They keep the eleventh place with 17 games lost. They share the position with Krosno. Kotwica will meet league's leader Sokol in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Slask will play against Krakow (#6) and hope to secure a win.
