Very expected game when 8th ranked Ponzano (9-13) was smashed on the road by fourth ranked Brescia (16-4) 83-61 on Wednesday. It was an exceptional evening for Alice Gregori (182-2000, agency: LBM Management) who led the winners and scored 18 points and 8 rebounds. French Angelina Turmel (198-1996, agency: Basket Promotion Agency) accounted for 11 points and 5 rebounds for the winning side. Four Brescia players scored in double figures. Dutch center Richelle Van Der Keijl (196-1993, college: N.Mexico) came up with 18 points and point guard Viviana Giordano (175-1989) added 10 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists respectively for Ponzano in the defeat. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Brescia maintains fourth place in A2 with 16-4 record. Loser Ponzano keeps the eighth position with 13 games lost. Brescia will meet at home higher ranked Milano (#3) in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory.
