Everything went according to plan when fifth ranked Ragusa (16-8) won against at home 10th ranked Sassari (8-17) 80-68 on Wednesday. Ragusa looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists comparing to just 10 passes made by Sassari's players. International guard Nicole Romeo (167-1989, college: Washington) stepped up with a double-double by scoring 17 points, 7 rebounds and 10 assists for the winners and Finnish-Egyptian center Awak Kuier (195-2001) chipped in 13 points, 9 rebounds, 4 assists and 5 blocks. Four Ragusa players scored in double figures. At the losing side American forward Jessica Shepard (193-1996, college: Notre Dame) responded with 33 points (!!!) and 8 rebounds and point guard Giulia Moroni (168-1994, agency: LBM Management) scored 12 points, 5 rebounds, 4 assists and 4 steals.
