Another interesting game was a derby match between two teams from Reykjavik: Valur (#4) and KR (#8). KR was smashed at home by 18 points 54-72 and even the fact of playing on their own court did not help. It looked good early as KR took a 3-point small lead at the end of first quarter. But then Valur had a 21-15 second period charge getting the lead and KR was not able to take back game control losing it eventually 54-72. They dominated on the defensive end, holding KR to just 6 points in fourth quarter. The former international forward Kristofer Acox (200-1993, college: Furman) scored 15 points and 9 rebounds to lead the charge for the winners and Argentinian-Italian Pablo Bertone (193-1990, college: FAU, agency: Interperformances) chipped in 18 points and 5 rebounds during the contest. Four Valur players scored in double figures. At the losing side Finnish Carl Lindbom (206-1991, agency: BIG) responded with 17 points and 9 rebounds and forward Thorvaldur Arnason (198-2002) scored 13 points and 8 rebounds. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Valur have a solid three-game winning streak. They moved-up to third place, which they share with Keflavik and Tindastoll. KR at the other side keeps the eighth position with 12 games lost.
