Regular Season Round 28: GTK Gliwice - Anwil 62-88

There was no surprise in Gliwice where 16th ranked GTK (4-23) was crushed by third ranked Anwil (20-8) 88-62 on Thursday. Anwil outrebounded GTK 42-26 including a 33-20 advantage in defensive rebounds. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. Worth to mention a great performance of the former international Michal Nowakowski (202-1988) who helped to win the game recording 12 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists and American guard Jonah Mathews (190-1998, college: USC) who added 16 points during the contest. Four Anwil players scored in double figures. Anwil's coach Przemyslaw Frasunkiewicz felt very confident that he used 11 players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. At the losing side forward Filip Put (201-1993) responded with 17 points and 7 rebounds and American point guard Jabarie Hinds (180-1992, college: UMass) scored 18 points and 5 assists. Anwil have an impressive five-game winning streak. They maintain third position with 20-8 record behind leader Czarni. GTK lost seventh consecutive game. They stay dead last with 23 lost games. Anwil will meet at home Spojnia (#12) in the next round and are hoping to win another game. GTK will play against the league's leader Czarni (#1) and hope to secure a win.
