Regular Season Round 27: Caceres - Alicante 78-65

There was a small surprise when tenth ranked Caceres (14-14) beat at home 7th ranked Alicante (14-13) 78-65 on Thursday. Caceres made 16-of-21 free shots (76.2 percent) during the game. The best player for the winners was American guard Devin Schmidt (193-1994, college: Delta St., agency: Duran International) who scored 23 points. Point guard Jaume Lobo (180-1997) chipped in 14 points. At the other side the best for losing team was Croatian swingman Fran Pilepic (193-1989) who recorded 13 points and Lithuanian forward Rolandas Jakstas (202-1992) added 7 points and 5 rebounds respectively. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Caceres moved-up to ninth place. Loser Alicante dropped to the eighth position with 13 games lost. Caceres will meet Juaristi ISB (#16) in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Alicante will play against Valladolid (#12) and hope to secure a win.
