Everything went according to plan in Vitoria-Gasteiz where sixth ranked Zaragoza (15-11) beat 11th ranked Araski (10-17) 79-69 on Saturday. Zaragoza had a 26-15 advantage in offensive rebounds. The best player for the winners was the former international forward Vega Gimeno (185-1991, college: RMU) who had a double-double by scoring 20 points and 10 rebounds. Belgian Antonia Delaere (183-1994) chipped in 18 points and 6 assists. Four Zaragoza players scored in double figures. At the other side the best for losing team was American guard Tanaya Atkinson (183-1996, college: Temple) who recorded 16 points and 6 rebounds and point guard Izaskun Garcia (168-1992) added 14 points and 4 assists respectively. Araski's coach Madelen Urieta rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Zaragoza moved-up to fifth place. Loser Araski dropped to the ninth position with 17 games lost. They share it with Promete. Zaragoza will meet at home higher ranked Girona (#3) in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory.
