Regular Season Round 26: Le Mans - Fos-Provence 93-99

There was a surprise result when seventeenth ranked Provence Basket (8-17) defeated on the road higher ranked Le Mans (15-10) 99-93 on Saturday. Strangely Le Mans outrebounded Provence Basket 37-24 including 23 on the defensive glass. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. The best player for the winners was American-Liberian Lasan Kromah (198-1991, college: UConn) who scored 27 points, 5 rebounds and 6 assists. Center Bodian Massa (205-1997) chipped in 14 points and 6 rebounds (was perfect 8-for-8 from the free throw line). Swingman Kenny Baptiste (207-2000) produced 18 points, 7 rebounds and 5 assists and American center TaShawn Thomas (203-1993, college: Oklahoma, agency: Pensack Sports) added 22 points and 6 rebounds respectively for the hosts. Both teams had five players each who scored in double figures. Provence Basket moved-up to sixteenth place, which they share with Orleans. Loser Le Mans keeps the fifth position with ten games lost. Provence Basket will meet at home higher ranked JSF Nanterre (#9) in the next round and they do not belong to the favorites in that game. Le Mans will play against Cholet Basket (#11) and hope to secure a win.
