Regular Season Round 24: Sant Antoni - Zentro Basket 81-86

The most important game in the last round took place in San Antonio between third ranked Sant Antoni (15-10) and twelfth ranked Zentro Basket (9-14) on Saturday night. Sant Antoni was defeated by Zentro Basket in a tough game at home 81-86. 28 personal fouls committed by Sant Antoni helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. Worth to mention a great performance of Belgian center Vincent Gielen (208-2000) who helped to win the game recording 18 points and 6 rebounds and guard Erik Persson (190-2000) who added 21 points during the contest. Four Zentro Basket players scored in double figures. The best for the losing side was U.S. Virgin Islands-American forward LaRon Smith (205-1993, college: Auburn) with 18 points and American forward Ramel Thompkins (201-1996, college: USC Upstate) scored 11 points and 7 rebounds. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. Newly promoted Zentro Basket maintains twelfth position in Silver with 9-14 record. Sant Antoni at the other side, also newcomer in the league, keeps the third place with ten games lost. Zentro Basket are looking forward to face league's leader Albacete at home in the next round and they do not belong to the favorites in that game. Sant Antoni will play against Gran Canaria 2 in Las Palmas and is hoping to win this game.
