There was an upset when higher ranked Tortona (12-12) was defeated at home by fourteenth ranked Pesaro (10-14) 86-70 on Saturday. American forward Tyrique Jones (206-1997, college: Xavier, agency: Pensack Sports) fired a double-double by scoring 20 points, 15 rebounds and 4 assists for the winners. Naturalized Argentinian Carlos Delfino (198-1982) chipped in 19 points, 7 rebounds and 6 assists. The former international point guard Bruno Mascolo (190-1996, agency: Players Group) produced 15 points and American swingman JP Macura (196-1995, college: Xavier) added 12 points respectively for lost side. Pesaro moved-up to twelfth place, which they share with Trento. Newly promoted Tortona dropped to the fourth position with 12 games lost. They share it with Reggio Emilia and Venezia. Pesaro will meet at home higher ranked Sassari (#7) in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Tortona will play against Cremona and hope to secure a win.
