Regular Season Round 24: Valencia 2 - Cornella 76-72

There was an upset when higher ranked Cornella (12-12) was defeated on the road by tenth ranked Valencia 2 (10-12) 76-72 on Saturday. The best player for the winners was Argentinian-Italian center Gonzalo Bressan (205-2001, agency: Interperformances) who had a double-double by scoring 20 points and 10 rebounds. Guard Millan Jimenez (196-2002) chipped in 19 points. At the other side the best for losing team was American-Guyanese forward Kevin Mickle (201-1993, college: Ohio) who recorded 16 points, 7 rebounds and 5 assists and center Eduard Arques (202-1994) added 12 points and 8 rebounds respectively. Four Cornella players scored in double figures. Both coaches tested many bench players in such tough game. Valencia 2 moved-up to ninth place in Silver. Loser Cornella dropped to the seventh position with 12 games lost. Valencia 2 will meet Real Canoe (#10) in the next round. Cornella will play against Mollet and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
