Regular Season Round 25: Piombino - San Miniato 78-93

Very predictable result when second ranked San Miniato (20-5) beat on the road 8th ranked Piombino (12-13) 93-78 on Sunday. It was a great shooting night for San Miniato especially from behind the arc, where they had solid 57.9 percentage. Edoardo Caversazio (200-1996) stepped up and scored 25 points, 8 rebounds and 5 assists for the winners and naturalized Dominican point guard Alberto Benites (180-1997) chipped in 15 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists. Four San Miniato players scored in double figures. At the losing side center Giacomo Eliantonio (206-1988) responded with 23 points and 5 rebounds and guard Mattia Venucci (185-1990, agency: SLN) scored 18 points and 6 rebounds (made all of his ten free throws !!!). San Miniato keeps a position of B leader. Loser Piombino keeps the eighth place with 13 games lost. San Miniato will meet at home Borgomanero (#16) in the next round which should be an easy win for them. Piombino will play against Oleggio (#13) and hope to secure a win.
