LF Endesa top team - Avenida (25-1) managed to deliver another win on Sunday. This time they beat ninth ranked Promete (10-17) in Logrono 67-55. They outrebounded Promete 45-32 including a 37-25 advantage in defensive rebounds. The best player for the winners was American swingman Kahleah Copper (186-1994, college: Rutgers) who scored 12 points and 6 rebounds. The former international guard Leonor Rodriguez-Manso (180-1991, college: FSU) chipped in 7 points and 5 rebounds. At the other side the best for losing team was Portuguese-Serbian guard Jovana Nogic (185-1997, college: Providence) who recorded a double-double by scoring 15 points and 10 rebounds and Senegalese center Maimouna Diarra (198-1991) added 8 points and 9 rebounds respectively. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. The victory was the nineteenth consecutive win for Avenida. Defending champion maintains first place with 25-1 record. Promete lost their sixth game in a row. They keep the ninth position with 17 games lost. They share it with Araski. Avenida will meet at home Leganes (#13) in the next round which should be an easy win for them. Promete will play against Gernika (#7) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
