Regular Season Round 33: Tychy - Walbrzych 87-72

The game between second ranked Gornik (23-9) and fifth ranked Tychy (19-12) was the most important one in the last round on Sunday night. Gornik was defeated by Tychy in Tychy 87-72. They outrebounded Gornik 37-26 including 27 on the defensive glass. Forward Patryk Stankowski (194-2000) stepped up and scored 27 points, 6 rebounds and 7 assists for the winners and point guard Piotr Wieloch (182-1994) chipped in 12 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists. Tychy's coach Tomasz Jagielka used an eleven-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. The best for the losing side was center Damian Cechniak (210-1993) with 9 points and 9 rebounds and guard Marcin Dymala (187-1990) scored 11 points and 7 assists. Tychy are looking forward to face higher ranked Kotwica (#3) in Kolobrzeg in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Gornik will have a break next round.
