Regular Season Round 26: Monaco - Orleans 90-84
Date: April 3, 2022
There was no surprise when 16th ranked Entente Orleans 45 (8-17) was defeated on the road by second ranked Monaco (18-7) 90-84 on Sunday. However just six-point win is not that big difference and the fans of host team counted on more convincing victory. The best player for the winners was American guard Mike James (185-1990, college: Lamar) who scored 24 points and 4 assists. Lithuanian center Donatas Motiejunas (213-1990) chipped in 17 points and 8 rebounds. Monaco's coach Sasa Obradovic used an eleven-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Senegalese center Youssou Ndoye (213-1991, college: St.Bonaventure) produced a double-double by scoring 21 points and 10 rebounds and American LaMonte Ulmer (198-1986, college: URI, agency: BIG) added 21 points respectively for the guests. Four Entente Orleans 45 players scored in double figures. Monaco have an impressive six-game winning streak. They keep a position of league leader, which they share with Levallois. Entente Orleans 45 lost fourth consecutive game. They keep the sixteenth place with 17 games lost. They share the position with Fos-Provence. Monaco will meet Le Portel (#15) on the road in the next round which should be an easy win for them. Entente Orleans 45 will play against ASVEL Lyon-Villeurbanne Basket and hope to secure a win.
