Regular Season Round 24: M.Rishon - H.Jerusalem 78-73

There was a change at the Winner League leadership position after last games. Round 24 most important game was a defeat of league's leader Hapoel Jerusalem (15-7). They were defeated by twelfth ranked Maccabi Rishon (5-17) 78-73 on Monday night. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Hapoel Jerusalem. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when Maccabi Rishon made 7 blocks. 26 personal fouls committed by Hapoel Jerusalem helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. Worth to mention a great performance of American point guard Tu Holloway (183-1989, college: Xavier) who helped to win the game recording 17 points, 5 rebounds and 9 assists and the other American import forward Diamon Simpson (204-1987, college: St.Mary's, CA) who added 12 points and 13 rebounds (perfect from the field making all six shots) during the contest. Four Maccabi Rishon players scored in double figures. The best for the losing side was Nigerian Suleiman Braimoh (203-1989, college: Rice) with 17 points and 7 rebounds and American guard Jalen Adams (191-1995, college: UConn) scored 12 points and 8 rebounds. Hapoel Jerusalem's coach rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Maccabi Rishon maintains twelfth position with 5-17 record. Hapoel Jerusalem at the other side still keeps top place with seven games lost. They were joined at the leadership position by Maccabi T-A who have the same record.
