Regular Season Round 27: Gravelines - Chalons-Reims 96-76

Very expected game when 18th ranked Chalons-Reims (7-20) was rolled over on the road by twelfth ranked Gravelines-Dunkerque (12-15) 96-76 on Friday. Gravelines-Dunkerque looked well-organized offensively handing out 26 assists. It was a great evening for American guard John Jenkins (193-1991, college: Vanderbilt) who led his team to a victory scoring 20 points and 4 assists. His fellow American import Tyler Stone (203-1991, college: SEMO) helped adding 18 points. Four Gravelines-Dunkerque players scored in double figures. The best for the losing side was Nigerian-American power forward Gani Lawal (206-1988, college: Georgia Tech) with 23 points and 7 rebounds and American point guard Dustin Ware (183-1990, college: Georgia, agency: Slash Sports) scored 14 points. Both coaches tested many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Gravelines-Dunkerque maintains twelfth place with 12-15 record. Chalons-Reims lost eighth consecutive game. They stay at the bottom position with 20 games lost. Gravelines-Dunkerque will meet at home higher ranked JL Bourg (#11) in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Chalons-Reims will play against JSF Nanterre (#9) and hope to secure a win.
