There was no surprise in Sinj where 11th ranked Sonik P. (8-19) was defeated by ninth ranked Alkar (10-17) 88-82 on Saturday. American guard Patrick McGlynn (188-1992, college: URI) stepped up and scored 35 points (!!!), 8 rebounds and 8 assists for the winners and power forward Stipe Krstanovic (205-1993) chipped in 9 points and 8 rebounds. Alkar's coach Vladimir Krstic used a ten-player rotation and allowed the starting five to rest. Forward Emilio Banic (197-1993) responded with 28 points and swingman Petar Maric (196-1987, agency: PEPI SPORT) scored 22 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists. Four Sonik P. players scored in double figures. The victory was the third consecutive win for Alkar. They moved-up to eighth place, which they share with Sibenka. Loser Sonik P. dropped to the tenth position with 19 games lost. They share it with Dubrava. Alkar will meet Sibenka (#8) in the next round. Sonik P. will play against Skrljevo and hope to secure a win.
