Regular Season Round 24: San Salvatore - Valdarno 64-71

Everything went according to plan when first ranked Valdarno (19-3) beat on the road 8th ranked San Salvatore (9-11) 71-64 on Saturday. Valdarno shot 60.5 percent from the field. It was a great shooting night for Valdarno especially from behind the arc, where they had solid 69.2 percentage. The best player for the winners was the former international guard Antonia Peresson (175-1995, college: Georgia Tech) who scored 16 points (on 7-of-8 shooting from the field). Power forward Emilia Bove (186-1988) chipped in 14 points. Valdarno's coach Alberto Matassini used a ten-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. At the other side the best for losing team was Bulgarian point guard Karina Konstantinova (173-1999) who recorded 16 points and power forward Mounia El Habbab (186-1994) added 14 points respectively. Valdarno maintains first position in A2 with 19-3 record. Loser San Salvatore dropped to the tenth place with 11 games lost. Valdarno will meet at home Civitanova (#14) in the next round which should be an easy win for them. San Salvatore will play against Nico Basket (#13) in Ponte Buggianese and hope to secure a win.
