Regular Season Round 28: Chantada - Univ.Valladolid 83-49

Everything went according to plan when fifth ranked Chantada (18-10) outleveled at home 14th ranked Univ.Valladolid (8-19) 83-49 on Saturday. Chantada dominated down low during the game scoring 42 of its points in the paint compared to Univ.Valladolid's 22. They outrebounded Univ.Valladolid 41-25 including a 35-20 advantage in defensive rebounds. Chantada looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists comparing to just 8 passes made by Univ.Valladolid's players. Worth to mention a great performance of point guard Hugo Rey (187-2003) who helped to win the game recording 20 points and 6 rebounds and forward Cristian Iglesias (200-1994) who added 11 points, 10 rebounds and 4 assists during the contest. Five Chantada players scored in double figures. At the losing side power forward Alvaro Encinas (202-1994) responded with a double-double by scoring 17 points and 10 rebounds and forward David Segura (195-2000) scored 15 points and 5 rebounds. Univ.Valladolid's coach Domingo Cano already knew that his team would not have a big chance, so allowed to play ten players seeing no chance for a win. Chantada maintains fifth position in Group A-B with 18-10 record. Univ.Valladolid lost seventh consecutive game. They keep the fourteenth place with 19 games lost. Both teams do not play next round, which will be an opportunity for some rest.
