Regular Season Round 27: Orleans - ASVEL 60-90

ProA U21 top team - ASVEL (22-1) had no problems winning another game on Saturday. This time they crushed eighteenth ranked Orleans (3-22) 90-60. They outrebounded Orleans 35-24 including 28 on the defensive glass. ASVEL looked well-organized offensively handing out 25 assists. The best player for the winners was Gambian center Babacar Mbye (212-2002) who scored 17 points and 9 rebounds (perfect from the field making all eight shots !!!). Swedish forward Zaba Bangala (200-2001) chipped in 13 points and 9 rebounds. Five ASVEL players scored in double figures. At the other side the best for losing team was power forward Andy Sigiscar (203-2004) who recorded 11 points and 5 rebounds and Cameroonian Yves Mballa (199-2003) added 10 points and 6 rebounds respectively. Orleans' coach gave up on the game allowing to play ten players seeing no chance for a win. ASVEL maintains first place with 22-1 record. Orleans lost their sixth game in a row. They stay dead last with 22 lost games. ASVEL will meet Roanne (#12) on the road in the next round which should be another easy win for them. Orleans will play against the league's second-placed Cholet (#2) and hope to secure a win.
