Regular Season Round 28: Ourense - Gijon Basket 64-62

There was a small surprise when eleventh ranked Ourense (13-15) edged at home 9th ranked Gijon Basket (12-15) 64-62 on Saturday. Worth to mention a great performance of Ivorian guard Lionel Kouadio (191-2001) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 19 points, 12 rebounds and 6 assists and guard Josep Cera (187-2003) who added 13 points and 7 rebounds during the contest. At the losing side forward Fernando Fernandez (201-1989, college: HLGU) responded with a double-double by scoring 18 points and 11 rebounds and forward Diego Sanchez (198-1978) scored 14 points and 7 rebounds. Four Gijon Basket players scored in double figures. Gijon Basket's coach Vicente Alvarez let to play ten players, but that didn't help to avoid defeat in this game. Ourense have an impressive five-game winning streak. They moved-up to eighth place in Group A-B, which they share with Avila. Loser Gijon Basket dropped to the tenth position with 15 games lost. Both teams do not play next round, which will be an opportunity for some rest.
