Regular Season Round 28: Ensino - Valencia 64-74

There was no surprise in Lugo where 10th ranked Ensino (11-17) was defeated by second ranked Valencia (24-4) 74-64 on Saturday. Worth to mention a great performance of Australian guard Rebecca Allen (188-1992, agency: LBM Management) who helped to win the game recording 21 points and 6 rebounds and the former international guard Leticia Romero (173-1995, college: FSU) who added 10 points and 9 rebounds during the contest. Four Valencia players scored in double figures. Valencia's coach Ruben Burgos used a ten-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. At the losing side Dutch guard Natalie Van Den Adel (185-1990, college: Colorado St.) responded with 22 points and Portuguese Sofia Gomes (188-1990, college: Tallahassee) scored 10 points and 7 rebounds. Valencia have an impressive 12-game winning streak. They maintain second position with 24-4 record behind leader Avenida. Loser Ensino dropped to the ninth place with 17 games lost. They share the position with Gran Canaria and Araski. Valencia will meet Clarinos (#15) in the next round which should be an easy win for them. Ensino will play against Araski (#10) in Vitoria-Gasteiz and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
