There was no surprise in Nes Ziyona where Maccabi Rishon was crushed by Ironi Nes-Ziona 99-75. They made 16-of-20 charity shots (80.0 percent) during the game. Ironi Nes-Ziona outrebounded Maccabi Rishon 40-26 including 27 on the defensive glass. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 27 assists. It was a very good performance for American point guard Diante Garrett (193-1988, college: Iowa St.) who helped to win the game recording 20 points. Naturalized Welsh Tal Dunne (198-1987, agency: Avi Zilberman) contributed with 10 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists for the winners. American guard Archie Goodwin (196-1994, college: Kentucky) answered with 22 points and 7 assists and the other American import forward Diamon Simpson (204-1987, college: St.Mary's, CA) added 15 points and 10 rebounds (made all of his eight free throws) in the effort for Maccabi Rishon. Five Ironi Nes-Ziona and four Maccabi Rishon players scored in double figures. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Ironi Nes-Ziona will play against Hapoel Tel-Aviv in Tel Aviv in the next round. Maccabi Rishon will play at home against Galil Gilboa and hopes to get back on the winning track.
