There was a small surprise when thirteenth ranked Start (10-19) edged 10th ranked Trefl (14-15) in Sopot 86-84 on Sunday. American point guard Mike Scott (184-1993, college: Idaho) nailed a double-double by scoring 22 points and 10 assists for the winning side and Mateusz Dziemba (192-1992) accounted for 17 points. American point guard Angelo Warner (188-1992, college: Morehead St.) came up with a double-double by scoring 17 points and 12 assists (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field) and American-British center Josh Sharma (213-1995, college: Stanford) added 19 points and 4 blocks (on 6-of-7 shooting from the field) respectively for Trefl in the defeat. Five Trefl players scored in double figures. Start maintains thirteenth place with 10-19 record. Loser Trefl keeps the tenth position with 15 games lost. Start will meet at home higher ranked WKS Slask (#5) in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Trefl will play against Legia (#6) in Warszawa and hope to secure a win.
