Very predictable result when second ranked Monaco (20-7) beat on the road 15th ranked Le Portel (9-18) 82-70 on Sunday. Monaco forced 22 Le Portel turnovers. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. It was a great evening for American guard Mike James (185-1990, college: Lamar) who led his team to a victory scoring 14 points and 9 assists. Guinean-American forward Alpha Diallo (201-1997, college: Providence) helped adding 13 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists. Four Monaco players scored in double figures. The best for the losing side was Beninese power forward Mouphtaou Yarou (206-1990, college: Villanova) with 9 points and 8 rebounds and American-Jamaican power forward Femi Olujobi (206-1996, college: DePaul, agency: Slash Sports) scored 12 points and 5 rebounds. Both coaches tested many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Monaco have an impressive series of seven victories in a row. They keep a position of league leader, which they share with Levallois. Loser Le Portel keeps the fifteenth place with 18 games lost. Monaco will meet JDA Dijon (#8) on the road in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Le Portel will play against the league's leader Metropolitans (#1) in Levallois and hope to secure a win.
