Regular Season Round 26: Giulianova - Faenza 86-94

Not a big story in a game when 14th ranked Giulianova (3-23) lost at home to ninth ranked Faenza (13-13) 94-86 on Sunday. Faenza dominated down low during the game scoring 50 of its points in the paint compared to Giulianova's 30. They outrebounded Giulianova 38-18 including a 30-16 advantage in defensive rebounds. Giovanni Poggi (201-1997) notched 26 points and 8 rebounds to lead the effort and forward Simone Aromando (200-1997, agency: SLN) supported him with 17 points and 14 rebounds (perfect from the field making all eight shots !!!). Even 16 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists by Francesco Buscaroli (192-2001, agency: Players Group) did not help to save the game for Giulianova. Michele Caverni (186-1996, agency: SLN) added 18 points and 6 assists for the hosts. Four Faenza and five Giulianova players scored in double figures. Giulianova's coach Massimiliano Domizioli tested ten players, but that didn't help to avoid defeat in this game. Faenza moved-up to seventh place in B, which they share with Desio and Fiorenzuola. Loser Giulianova keeps the fourteenth position with 23 games lost. Faenza will meet at home Senigallia (#8) in the next round. Giulianova will play against Montegranaro (#16) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
