Regular Season Round 26: Virtus BO - Milano 83-65

An exciting game between Top Four teams was played in Bologna. First ranked Virtus BO faced second-ranked Milano. Host Virtus BO (21-3) defeated guests from Milano (19-5) 83-65. Virtus BO made 22-of-22 free shots (100 percent !!!) during the game, while Milano only scored four points from the stripe. They outrebounded Milano 42-26 including a 34-17 advantage in defensive rebounds. Virtus BO looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. The best player for the winners was French center Mouhammadou Jaiteh (211-1994) who had a double-double by scoring 18 points and 15 rebounds. French Isaia Cordinier (196-1996) chipped in 18 points (was perfect 7-for-7 from the free throw line). Four Virtus BO players scored in double figures. Ghanian-American Ben Bentil (204-1995, college: Providence) produced 15 points and the former international Nicolo Melli (205-1991) added 10 points and 5 rebounds respectively for the guests. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Virtus BO have an impressive 11-game winning streak. Defending champion maintains first position with 21-3 record. Milano at the other side keeps the second place with five games lost. Virtus BO are looking forward to face Pesaro (#8) on the road in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Milano will play against Napoli (#14) and is hoping to prove to their fans that this time they can win.
