Everything went according to plan when fifth ranked Salerno (16-9) defeated at home 7th ranked Torrenova (15-11) 85-78 on Sunday. Salerno made 23-of-27 free shots (85.2 percent) during the game. Power forward Niccolo Rinaldi (198-1993) notched 22 points and 6 rebounds to lead the effort and power forward Andrea Valentini (199-1998, agency: SLN) supported him with 8 points and 15 rebounds. Even a double-double of 20 points and 10 rebounds by forward Dario Zucca (203-1996) did not help to save the game for Torrenova. Forward Luca Bolletta (198-1991) added 14 points and 14 rebounds for the guests. Four Torrenova players scored in double figures. Salerno moved-up to fourth place in B. Loser Torrenova dropped to the fifth position with 11 games lost. They share it with Bergamo. Salerno will meet Formia (#16) on the road in the next round which should be an easy win for them. Torrenova will play against the league's leader Agrigento (#1) and hope to secure a win.
