Very predictable result when fifth ranked Zaragoza (17-11) won against on the road 14th ranked Bembibre (8-21) 75-61 on Wednesday. Zaragoza dominated down low during the game scoring 50 of its points in the paint compared to Bembibre's 30. They outrebounded Bembibre 46-21 including a 36-16 advantage in defensive rebounds. American guard Sierra Calhoun (183-1996, college: Rutgers) nailed 21 points and 7 rebounds for the winning side and the former international forward Vega Gimeno (185-1991, college: RMU) accounted for 15 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists. Four Zaragoza players scored in double figures. American guard Amber Melgoza (178-1998, college: Washington) came up with a double-double by scoring 20 points and 10 rebounds and Estonian forward Kadri-Ann Lass (190-1996, college: Duquesne) added 12 points respectively for Bembibre in the defeat. Both coaches tested many bench players saving starting five for next games. The victory was the third consecutive win for Zaragoza. They maintain fifth place with 17-11 record. Bembibre lost their third game in a row. They dropped to the fifteenth position with 21 games lost. Zaragoza will meet at home Promete (#11) in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. Bembibre will play against Ferrol (#16) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
