Regular Season Round 29: Clarinos - Valencia 77-58

The game between second ranked Valencia (24-5) and fifteenth ranked Clarinos (9-20) was the most important one in the last round on Wednesday night. Valencia was crushed by Clarinos in San Cristobal 58-77. It ended at the same time the 12-game winning streak of Valencia. Clarinos made 16-of-17 free shots (94.1 percent) during the game. American forward Theresa Plaisance (196-1992, college: LSU) orchestrated the victory with a double-double by scoring 24 points and 16 rebounds. Slovakian power forward Zofia Hruscakova (190-1995) contributed with 16 points for the winners. Australian guard Rebecca Allen (188-1992, agency: LBM Management) answered with 14 points and the former international swingman Queralt Casas (177-1992) added 6 points and 9 rebounds in the effort for Valencia. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Clarinos moved-up to fourteenth place. Valencia at the other side keeps the second position with five games lost. Clarinos are looking forward to face higher ranked IDK Eustotren (#6) in San Sebastian in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Valencia will play at home against Araski (#12) and is hoping to win this game.
