Regular Season Round 14: Venezia - Brindisi 80-78
Date: April 13, 2022
Very predictable result when fifth ranked Venezia (14-12) edged at home 11th ranked Brindisi (11-15) 80-78 on Wednesday. However just two-point win is not that big difference and the fans of host team counted on more convincing victory. Venezia made 16-of-21 free shots (76.2 percent) during the game. The former international Stefano Tonut (194-1993) notched 27 points and 4 assists to lead the effort and American-North Macedonian point guard Jordan Theodore (182-1989, college: Seton Hall) supported him with 12 points and 6 rebounds. Venezia's coach Walter De Raffaele used a ten-player rotation in such tough game. Even a double-double of 13 points, 14 rebounds and 7 assists by the former international swingman Alessandro Gentile (201-1992, agency: SLN) did not help to save the game for Brindisi. American guard D'Angelo Harrison (193-1993, college: St.John's) added 13 points and 5 rebounds for the guests. Four Brindisi players scored in double figures. Venezia have a solid four-game winning streak. They moved-up to fourth place, which they share with Tortona. Brindisi lost fourth consecutive game. They dropped to the tenth position with 15 games lost. They share it with Varese and Trento. Venezia will meet at home Napoli (#14) in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Brindisi will have a break next round.
