Regular Season Round 14: Tortona - Brescia 81-74

The most important game in the last round took place in Tortona between third ranked Brescia (18-8) and fourth ranked Tortona (14-12) on Wednesday night. Brescia was defeated by Tortona in a tough game on the road 74-81. It ended at the same time the 14-game winning streak of Brescia. American point guard Chris Wright (185-1989, college: Georgetown) orchestrated the victory by scoring 21 points and 5 assists. The other American import swingman JP Macura (196-1995, college: Xavier) contributed with 21 points for the winners. Four Tortona players scored in double figures. American swingman John Petrucelli (193-1992, college: Molloy) replied with 19 points (was perfect 7-for-7 from the free throw line) and the former international power forward Christian Burns (203-1985, college: Jefferson) added 12 points and 6 rebounds in the effort for Brescia. Brescia's coach Alessandro Magro rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Newly promoted Tortona maintains fourth position with 14-12 record, which they share with Venezia. Brescia at the other side keeps the third place with eight games lost. Tortona is looking forward to face Reggio Emilia (#7) on the road in the next round. Brescia will have a break next round.
