Regular Season Round 27: Peja - Drita 140-49

There was no surprise when bottom-ranked Drita (0-26) was crushed on the road by fourth ranked Peja (15-7) 140-49 on Friday. Peja dominated down low during the game scoring 88 of its points in the paint compared to Drita's 28 and made 16-of-20 free shots (80.0 percent) during the game. Peja forced 28 Drita turnovers and outrebounded them 50-19 including a 36-15 advantage in defensive rebounds. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 40 assists comparing to just 14 passes made by Drita's players. It was a great evening for American forward Stephen Maxwell (201-1993, college: CSUN) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 37 points (!!!), 13 rebounds, 4 assists and 4 steals (on 14-of-18 shooting from the field). His fellow American import forward Calvin Godfrey (204-1990, college: Memphis, agency: BIG) helped adding 23 points, 13 rebounds and 8 assists (on 9-of-11 shooting from the field). Five Peja players scored in double figures. Coach S Bass's team controlled all game and the coach could let to play 10 players and allowed the starting five to rest. The best for the losing side was Nart Llapashtica (200) with 18 points and 5 assists and Laurant Ibrahimi (189-1992) scored 14 points. Peja have a solid series of three victories in a row. They moved-up to third place, which they share with Prizreni-16. Newly promoted Drita still closes the standings. Peja will meet league's second-placed Ylli in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Drita will play against Bashkimi (#6) and hopes to get finally their first victory.
