Regular Season Round 21: Dinamo - Rustavi 69-85
Date: April 15, 2022
Not a big story in a game in Tbilisi where 11th ranked Dinamo (3-16) was defeated by ninth ranked Rustavi (8-11) 85-69 on Friday. The guests trailed by 1 point after first quarter, but they stormed back to get the 2-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 85-69. Rustavi looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. The best player for the winners was the former international power forward Giorgi Tvalabeishvili (208-1998) who scored 19 points and 9 rebounds (perfect from the field making all nine shots !!!). American point guard Luwane Pipkins (180-1996, college: Providence) chipped in 14 points, 7 rebounds, 7 assists and 5 steals. Four Rustavi players scored in double figures. Rustavi's coach Anatoli Boisa used a ten-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. At the other side the best for losing team was international swingman Nikoloz Gaprindashvili (198-2002) who recorded 26 points and 5 rebounds and forward Anzori Nadiradze (202-2001, agency: BIG) added 13 points and 6 rebounds respectively. Defending champion moved-up to eighth place. Dinamo lost their fifth game in a row. They stay at the bottom position with 16 games lost. Rustavi will meet at home higher ranked Vera (#5) in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Dinamo will play against the league's second-placed Kutaisi (#2) where they are definitely not considered as a favorite in this game either.
