Regular Season Round 27: Montegranaro - Giulianova 101-70

There was a small surprise when sixteenth ranked Montegranaro (3-24) outplayed at home 14th ranked Giulianova (3-24) 101-70 on Saturday. They outrebounded Giulianova 55-29 including a 45-27 advantage in defensive rebounds. Montegranaro looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists. It was an exceptional evening for Dario Masciarelli (195-1998) who led the winners and scored 17 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists. Estonian Kirill Korsunov (201-2000) accounted for 19 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists for the winning side. Montegranaro's coach Massimiliano Baldiraghi felt very confident that he used 10 players and allowed the starting five to rest. Federico Bischetti (194-2002) came up with 18 points and 5 rebounds (on 6-of-7 shooting from the field) and Tommaso Milani (190-1988, agency: SLN) added 10 points and 9 rebounds respectively for Giulianova in the defeat. Five Montegranaro and four Giulianova players scored in double figures. Montegranaro moved-up to fourteenth place in B. Montegranaro will meet higher ranked Senigallia (#8) on the road in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Giulianova will play against RO Luiss (#10) in Roma and hope to secure a win.
