Regular Season Round 27: Varese - Oleggio 82-75

Rather predictable result when eleventh ranked Varese (12-15) won against at home 13th ranked Oleggio (10-17) 82-75 on Saturday. It was an exceptional evening for the former international forward Marco Allegretti (204-1981) who led the winners and scored 21 points and 8 rebounds. Guard Matteo Maruca (185-1997) accounted for 18 points and 5 assists for the winning side. Varese's coach Gabriele Donati used an eleven-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Naturalized Swiss Olivier Giacomelli (198-1995) came up with 17 points and 7 rebounds and point guard Guglielmo De Ros (186-1998) added 15 points and 4 assists respectively for Oleggio in the defeat. Four Oleggio players scored in double figures. Varese moved-up to tenth place in B. Loser Oleggio keeps the thirteenth position with 17 games lost. Varese will meet league's leader San Miniato on the road in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Oleggio will play against Borgomanero (#16) and hope to secure a win.
